Construction on the Red Brick School was started in August of 1913, only two years after Edson's incorporation as a town.

It was Edson's only school for grades 1-12 until 1951 and was used as a school until 1967.

From 1967 - 1984, the Yellowhead School Division used the sturdy Red Brick for a maintenance shop and bus service facility, before moving into a new facility.

ECHO - Edson Cultural Heritage Organization took over the school in 1984 and the long arduous renovation process began. ECHO still owns and operates the facility today.

It is a labour of love for the board.

The Red Brick has now been transformed into a much needed Community Arts Centre and Museum. It hosts many community events, classes, workshops, fundraisers and much more. Most rooms are available to rent.

The building includes Tillie's Tea Room, Hatlen Theatre, the Art Gallery, Special Touch Gift Shop, 2 Dance Studios, and of course the School Room and Principals Office museum.
